Frequently Asked Questions

What do I receive?

We scour the reviews and new release lists to find the most exciting, collectable detective fiction published each month. Then we work to obtain Signed First Editions for members.

What kinds of books are chosen?

A Signed First Edition will arrive every month, sent directly from the bookshop and accompanied by a letter to introduce the book. For international members, we’re also happy to offer quarterly delivery.

When do you take payment?

Your card will be charged monthly, a couple of days before the book is posted out. If you're buying a gift subscription your card will be charged for the total value of the subscription up front.

Can I give a subscription as a gift?

Yes! We offer gift subscriptions for three, six or twelve months. Please select the duration of your gift when you add it to your basket.

Is there a minimum subscription period?

You can cancel your subscription at any time. Your confirmation email contains a link to manage your subscription. You can modify your subscription by following the link in the email and logging in to your account. Alternatively please do email subscriptions@toppingbooks.co.uk and we can make the change on your behalf.

What happens if I already have a copy of the book?

Usually the books that we select have been published very recently, so the chances of already having a copy are quite low. Often if you do have another copy of a book, it makes a great present for a friend. But if you’d like to exchange a book for another title, just let us know and we can arrange a swap.
