The Kingdom of Tigers weaves a poignant tale of survival and hope. As deforestation threatens their home, a tiger and her cub embark on a perilous journey to find safety. When they become separated, the cub must brave the wild with the friends he meets along the way, to return to his mother and find the sanctuary he dreams of.
This incredible new picture book, written by Felicity Yeoh and illustrated by Megan Snyders, carries an important message about Malaysia's endangered harimau tigers, as well as beautifully exploring themes of family, friendship and home. The book features an afterword from United Nations Goodwill Ambassador and award-winning actor Michelle Yeoh.
This event is for children aged 2 to 6 years-old, accompanied by an adult, and will last for around 45 minutes. It's free to attend, but we would appreciate it if you could sign up as it will help us know how many to expect.
Felicity Yeoh lives in London with her young family, and grew up in England, going back to visit family in Singapore and Malaysia every year. She loves reading out loud, and volunteered as an early years classroom reader and at the library throughout school and university. She teaches Sunday school and works in finance. Her poems have been commended for Faber's FAB Prize and Penguin WriteNow 2021, and she was a Foyle Young Poet of the Year.
Her adult fiction has been shortlisted for the Mo Siewcharran, Morley, Owned Voices, Joffe Books, London Library Emerging Writers and Book Edit Prizes and she received a London Writers Award in 2022.
