BBC World Book Club, presented by Harriett Gilbert, is coming to our bookshop on Wednesday 20th August at 5:30pm for a special live recording celebrating the enduring legacy of Sherlock Holmes and his most famous case, The Hound of the Baskervilles.
Harriett will be joined by international bestselling crime writer Val McDermid and leading Holmes expert Dr Mark Jones—Commissioning Editor of The Sherlock Holmes Journal and Co-Host of The Doings of Doyle podcast—to discuss Conan Doyle’s masterpiece and its powerful influence on crime and detective fiction.
The show depends on questions from our global community of book lovers, and the panel is eager to hear from the live audience, so please come with questions in mind.
It is recommended that the audience read The Hound of the Baskervilles ahead of the show. We have plenty of copies available from the bookshop in advance.
The event will start at 5:30pm, is free to attend but seats are limited. To register your interest to book on for this event, please email worldbookclub@bbc.co.uk.
