Unapologetically Black and Bold

Welcome to the Unapologetically Black and Bold reading group! I'm Angel and this month's book is Honey, a thrilling dark academia novel debut from Imani Thompson.

Through Yrsa, Imani explores intersectionality, particularly between race and gender. An astute young black undergraduate supervisor; Yrsa decides to take matters into her own hands by adjusting her moral compass in order to become judge, jury and executioner of the male condition. Bold, satirical and unapologetically black. She’ll keep you guessing, but you’ll definitely want to stick around for the ride.

Perfect for fans of luster, boy parts and my sister, the serial killer

Yrsa knows what's right and wrong. She's a high achiever. A woman with standards.

She's also bored. Tired of her PhD. The world's everyday injustices. The endless disappointments of men.

Then one impulsive act leaves a man dead. And suddenly, Yrsa feels alive.
