Venue Accessibility: Central Hall, University of York

Venue address: Central Hall, University of York, Campus West, Zone 2, York, YO10 5DD

Venue information: Central Hall is located on the University of York Campus, overlooking Scullion's Lake.

If you need us to reserve space for a wheelchair or if we can help with any other access, please do let our team know in advance by emailing york@toppingbooks.co.uk.

Guests in wheelchairs will need to use the lift which is outside the main door to Central Hall. This will bring you into the back of the stage, where you can then access the accessible platforms.

Please find a member of staff near the door to the venue before you enter the lift.

How to get there:

The approach to the building is step-free via slight slopes.

Central Hall has one entrance - the main entrance, which provides step-free level access to the ground floor. There is one set of push-pad activated double automatic doors, followed by a set of double manual doors (which are permanently held open) at this entrance.

The entrance is signed as "Central Hall".

The main entrance provides step-free level access to the main foyer on the ground floor.

At ground floor level, the lift is located outside the building, on the opposite side of the covered walkway to the main entrance. This will bring you into the back of the stage, where you can then access the accessible platforms. Please find a member of staff near the door to the venue before you enter the lift.

Central Hall is fitted with a speaker system. There is a hearing loop system available, if you wish to use it please let us know before the day of the event.

The seating is tiered, and there is an allocated space for wheelchair users near the front.
